What I did on my three day weekend

May 28, 2008
  1. Went to a funeral. Our neighbor passed away. Alzheimer’s/old age… She appeared quite peaceful in her green suit with a stuffed kitty at her side.
  2. Came home to find that H had commandeered the washing machine.
  3. Went to eat across the river — lamenting that the Chinese restaurant had closed, along with the good Mexican restaurant out of the two in town.
  4. Went for a short walk.
  5. Stopped in to visit a couple antique shops. I still want that walnut side table…
  6. Waited and waited and waited for DH to come home (oops…should have mentioned this was all on Saturday — and he had to work…) because:
  7. …we were having a cookout — one way or the other. The menu: hamburgers/bratburgers, corn, deviled eggs, broccoli slaw, chip and dip, rhubarb crisp with vanilla ice cream.

Sunday:

  1. Church. Used Bob Bennett’s “My Heart Is Across the Ocean” for the music slideshow.
  2. Lunch at home.
  3. DH took a short nap afterwards.
  4. Went to R-town. Found some sandals and walking shoes for me. Go me!!!
  5. Went to see “Iron Man” with H. Pretty good.
  6. Came home whilst the thunderboomers were moving in.

Monday

  1. SLEPT IN. Oh glory!
  2. Went to the Memorial Day service at the local cemetery.
  3. Started yard work: mulch between foundation and bushes, mowed/treated grass, cleaned out gutters, put in air conditioner, took plastic off the windows, put in the upstairs window fan, staked the asparagus, asters and Joe pye…hmmm…this list reads faster than real time…
  4. Watched “3:10 to Yuma”. All I have to say is “Poor Wash”…
